Acolyte Health will receive computing credits and technical expertise from Amazon Web Services for the advancement of the Acolyte Interactive platform that creates health literate and accessible health care education in over 120 languages, featuring culturally representative Digital Acolyte caregivers.

LOS ANGELES, CA (APRIL 22, 2024) — Acolyte Health today announced that it has been selected as part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Health Equity Initiative, a $60 million, three-year commitment, supporting organizations that are developing solutions to advance health equity.

Through the initiative, AWS offers AWS credits and customized technical expertise to selected organizations around the world that want to use AWS services to improve health outcomes and health equity in any of the following areas: 1) Increasing access to high-quality, culturally responsive health services; 2) Increasing access to responsive social and community support; and 3) Mitigating the impact of climate change on health and quality of life.

The support from AWS will advance Acolyte Health’s efforts to guide and empower individuals in making informed healthcare decisions. Through engaging and culturally representative interactive videos delivered by the trusted Digital Acolyte, Acolyte Health aims to guide individuals to better health outcomes.

Acolyte Health’s interactive platform is currently being used for population health, clinical pathways, and health insurance education for hospitals and health plans nationwide. “Today, a staggering 88 percent of Americans struggle to understand healthcare information presented to them. The complexity of healthcare education and delivery, often communicated in technical terms and hindered by translation limitations, presents a significant barrier to health equity. At Acolyte Health, we’re dedicated to transforming healthcare education into a more accessible, inclusive, and comprehensible experience for all” said Brad Bigelow, CEO and Founder of Acolyte Health.

Acolyte Health features interactive tool sets enabling AI-generated content creation in multiple languages, all on a HIPAA compliant platform and made possible by the robust product offerings from AWS. “Innovations with greater societal impact are only made possible through collaborations such as the AWS Health Equity Initiative,” says Brad Bigelow. “Without investments in early-stage concepts, entrepreneurs wouldn’t have the resources to bring these ideas to market. We’re deeply grateful for our collaboration with AWS.”

“AWS believes individual health outcomes should not depend on socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or neighborhood, “said Maggie Carter, Director, Social Responsibility Impact at AWS.  “Cloud technology can help address inequities in global health to expand access to the services people need to live longer, healthier lives–no matter who they are or where they live. Through the AWS Health Equity Initiative, we look forward to helping Acolyte Health and other organizations worldwide use the power of cloud computing to advance health equity and improve health outcomes.”
